World can feed more people more efficiently: FAO

Sustainable farming and bold policy decisions are needed by governments if current food consumption conditions persist reports the UN, ahead of an important sustainable development summit in Rio next month. The world can feed itself with less food output than previously forecast if it turns to sustainable farming, cuts waste and stops excessive consumption, the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) said on Wednesday.
